Where appropriate, the article may include a Correction note explaining what was corrected.
The original incorrect information will not normally be left in place merely to preserve the original version of the story.

If a headline contains a significant factual error or materially misrepresents the article, we will correct the headline.
Where the error is substantial, an appropriate correction note may also be added to the article.

A correction and an update are not the same thing.
An update may be made when new verified information becomes available after publication, such as:
- A new official statement
- Developments in an ongoing event
- Updated figures
- A response from a person or organisation
- The outcome of an investigation
Where appropriate, an Updated date or editorial note may be displayed.
7. Reader Correction Requests
Readers are encouraged to notify us when they believe an article contains an error.
Correction requests should preferably include:
- The article title or URL
- A clear description of the suspected error
- The correct information
- Supporting evidence or a reliable source, where available

All correction requests are reviewed by the editorial team.
Submitting a correction request does not automatically mean that an article will be changed. The information provided will be assessed against available evidence and reliable sources.
If the claim cannot be independently verified, we may contact relevant sources or conduct additional checks before making a decision.
9. Political Claims and Allegations
Statements or allegations made by political parties, public officials, organisations or individuals may be reported with appropriate attribution.
A correction may be necessary if Azadi News incorrectly presents a claim as an established fact, misattributes a statement or materially misrepresents a person’s position.
10. Corrections and Archived Content
Where an article has been corrected, the correction may remain part of the article’s editorial record.
In cases involving significant factual errors, we may preserve an appropriate correction note so that readers understand that the article has been amended.
11. Editorial Responsibility
Azadi News does not intentionally publish false information.
When a significant error is identified, our responsibility is to correct it rather than conceal it.
We also distinguish between:
- A factual error
- A legitimate difference of interpretation
- An opinion
- A disputed claim

Not every disagreement with an article constitutes a correction.
12. AI-Assisted Content
Where AI tools are used as part of the editorial process, the final published material remains subject to human editorial review.
If an AI-assisted process contributes to a factual error, Azadi News will address that error according to the same correction standards that apply to other published content.

Individuals or organisations who believe that an article materially misrepresents their position may contact Azadi News with relevant information or a response.
